Position Summary
The HR Generalist handles employee-related issues, as well as assists with administration and fulfillment of day-to-day tasks of the general operations of the Human Resources Department. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, and employment law compliance. The HR Generalist helps with the implementation of services, policies, and programs for company employees.
The HR Generalist oversees the day-to-day tasks of the HR Administrators on the Human Resources team. This position collaborates internally with cross functional teams and with RavenTek's vendors to support the mission of the company's administrative goals.
Requirements:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee and administer benefits, to include enrollments, changes, terminations, employee questions and/or issue resolution, audits, corrections, portal management, distribution of notices, benefits document updates and maintenance, and other related required tasks.
Investigate complaints or grievances brought forward by employees.
Support company managers in issuing counseling and disciplinary actions, ensuring the most effective and compliant outcome.
Use HR system (and other means when necessary) to communicate updates, policies, and other information to employees.
Explain company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job candidates.
Assist with and oversee moving employees through the onboarding process from start to finish, to include correspondence, meetings, setup, onboarding tasks, orientation, monitoring trainings, questions, follow-ups and other related required tasks.
Facilitate completion of New Hire and Exit interviews and surveys, and analyze the information received.
Issue and monitor annual trainings.
Ensure proper approval, documentation and processing of employee status changes and action forms.
Position management; position descriptions and system entry.
Respond to employee requests and questions in a timely manner.
Oversee and effectively manage emails and correspondence that come into the HR department.
Oversee the daily tasks of HR administrators.
Step in as back up to HR Administrator and Director of HR when needed.
Workers Compensation and Unemployment claim reporting and managing.
Track and manage employee extended leave as required.
Ensure employee files and the HR system are maintained per regulation and/or best practice. Pull together data for compliance and other reporting requirements.
Write, revise, edit and proofread HR and company forms, policies and procedures as needed.
Recommend new or updated policies and procedures as needed to continually improve efficiency and keep up with growth of the company.
Ensure Federal & State Labor Law Posters kept updated and posted as necessary.
Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices.
Research on employee labor laws, employee questions, and other human resource related material as needed.
Periodic travel to employee worksites and corporate office as required.
Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following workday, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period.
Complete required compliance training as assigned.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education & Work Experience
Bachelor's degree, major in Business Administration or Human Resources preferred.
4 years of experience working in Human Resources for a company of more than 50 employees.
2 years of benefits administration experience.
Experience managing or supervising others in a collaborative team environment.
2 years of experience working with a comprehensive HRIS system.

Work Environment
Works at a desk in a professional office or home office environment. When working on-site, employee will be working indoors with other people. Potential moderate temperature fluctuations. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis.
Physical Demands
Employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Requires the ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, inputting data, and providing responses and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 20 pounds.
