Department: Event Production Services Hours: 40 Hours per Week FT/PT/TEMP: Full Time Exempt Status: Non-Exempt Location: In-Person, Pasadena, CA
Brief Description: Under the immediate supervision of the Event Production Manager, the Collaborative Technology Coordinator will spearhead implementation of tasks associated with the use of collaborative learning equipment housed in classrooms and meeting spaces on Fuller's Pasadena campus and its remote campuses based in Houston and Phoenix.
Maintenance of all collaborative technology equipment (including upkeep, upgrades, and repairs, when applicable) and training others on the use of this technology are key aspects of this role.
This position also aids in assignment of learning spaces to in-person courses hosted on the Pasadena campus each quarter, under consultation with Fuller's Teaching and Learning department.
Principal Duties/Responsibilities:
Partner with the Teaching and Learning staff to determine the optimal location for each in-person course held on Fuller's Pasadena campus (reserve spaces in Room Scheduling software, when needed)
Perform the setup and cleanup of video conferencing equipment for Face to Face Online Live classes on Fuller's Pasadena campus, and provide connection and scheduling assistance for meetings
Provide graceful, primary support for technology – inclusive of Zoom meetings – used in classrooms and meeting spaces; troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise during active use of equipment, under high pressure situations, at times
Coordinate support for Fuller’s A/V and video conferencing systems at all campus locations
Address queries from Faculty and the wider Fuller community about collaborative technology, via written and face-to-face communication
Be mindful of, and enforce, policies regarding collaborative technology use by faculty, staff, and students
Monitor and manage recordings and provide access to recordings as needed according to policy
Continually inventory equipment to verify functionality and proactively prevent failure
Address Classroom Services requests through the ticketing system
Assist in making decisions about resource allocations, ensuring full coverage of collaborative technology needs
Conduct training of staff and faculty on use of collaborative technology hardware and software
Stay current on emerging technology, especially new Zoom feature offerings
Proactively inform Fuller faculty and staff of current and emerging collaborative technology that will enhance the learning experience
Create policies and guidance manuals, as needed, to maintain equipment functionality between users
Secondary Duties/Responsibilities:
When schedule permits, assist with Event Production duties
Ability to slide over to live events to run A/V equipment as a technician
Willingness to cross train with event production equipment and implement best Zoom practices for video conferencing/streaming
Other duties as assigned by Event Production Manager
Skills, Knowledge, and Physical Requirements Required:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience is required
Experience with audio/visual integration and repair
Experience with Polycom video conferencing systems (or other comparable endpoint system)
Intermediate troubleshooting skills for laptop computers (running a range of macOS and Windows versions), Zoom meetings, video conferencing systems and audio/visual equipment
Intermediate to advanced experience with Google Workspace
Beginning to intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365 products
Ability to collaborate and engage with individuals at all levels of the institution in a productive way, through verbal and written means
Ability to work with little supervision and to prioritize daily tasks
Interest in ensuring all in-person and online gatherings using collaborative technology run smoothly
Proven ability to set and meet deadlines
Strong organizational and problem solving skills
Identify sensitive situations and maintain confidentiality
Able to lift 35 pounds, push 50 pounds on a cart
Adaptable to changing demands, while maintaining a sense of humor and a spirit of helpfulness
Experience in higher education, a plus
Patience and a strong sense of empathy are an asset in this role
This position is fully in-person on the Pasadena, CA campus
Pay Scale:
Hourly rate the seminary expects to pay: $22.00 per hour
