Summary:

The Underwriting Account Senior Representative, within Cigna's Supplemental Benefits contributes to the Underwriting process through the handling of all Medicare Supplement, Health and Life underwritten applications.

Responsibilities:


  • Analyze medical history, data and interviews employing critical thinking skills

  • Determine whether to accept, modify or decline in accordance with state and company compliance standards

  • As needed handle inquiries via phone from agents/and or applicants regarding underwriting decisions

  • Demonstrated experience operating software to summarize application medical and health data

  • Experience working in a dynamic and ever-changing business environment

  • Ability to prioritize workload independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Assist with special projects and other duties as needed

Qualifications:


  • College degree preferred or equivalent experience required

  • 2+ years insurance or medical experience required, preferably medical insurance or PBM background

  • 1+ yr. of customer service experience preferably on phones

  • Intermediate level of medical terminology required

  • Excellent analytical, organizational and critical thinking skills

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
