Job Description:

The Disaster Recovery Coordinator will be one of the faces of the Medicare Tech Ops (MTO) BCP/DR team and oversee the MTO datacenter recovery effort using a BCP tracking tool. This position will be responsible for the oversight of the critical application recovery plans, as well as annual recovery plan exercises. The Senior DR Coordinator will work closely with critical application support team managers, business owners, Cigna DR and BCP Teams and the MTO Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure organizational ownership and related accountability for disaster recovery plans.

Job Summary : Ensuring IT delivery teams improve their Disaster Recovery posture for their critical portfolio applications or components, by analyzing risks associated with the BIA, recovery plans, and testing results. The Senior DR Coordinator will spearhead collaboration sessions to assist with remediation of risks or gaps associated with HCSC critical portfolio application recovery plans and communicate to the MTO SLT and other leaders on a regular cadence. The Senior DR Coordinator will oversee annual recovery plan testing to capture improvement opportunities and ensure recovery plans are ready for execution if a disaster is declared. The ideal candidate will have a technical and Project Management background combination, excellent and open communicator, an outstanding collaborator, and experience with executive communications.

Job Duties:


  • Oversight of delivery teams critical DR information into a BCP tracking tool (ServiceNow)

  • Report Testing and Recovery Plan Status to leadership on a set Cadence

  • Oversee Execution of Recovery Plan Exercises

  • Assist with Driving Application and Infrastructure Support teams to keep their CI information current in ITSM Tool

  • Work Closely with Cigna's Business Continuity Team to Remediate RTO/RPO Gaps in Recovery Plans or Methods

  • Work with Backup and Recovery Team to Ensure all Critical Application Portfolio Servers are Being Backed Up

  • Work with Storage/Windows Teams to Ensure Replication Methods are Functional and Inclusive of Critical Application Servers

  • Ensure Proper Change Management Principles are being used for Testing and Plan Updates

  • Define Processes and Educate CI owners on the Process to Ensure Critical Servers are DR Protected

  • Reconcile Critical Server Portfolio List Semi-Annually to Ensure DR and Backup Protection

  • Point person for HCSC Disaster Recovery Planning in alignment with HCSC critical application portfolio and business capability mapping

  • Assist DR Coordinator in creation of SOP's, tracking methods, and templates to support these efforts listed above

  • Ability to gather data from multiple sources and analyze it to support team goals

Job Requirements:


  • Great attitude, passionate, collaborative, team oriented, and a great communicator

  • Technical / Project Management background - should be able to fluently talk "tech talk" with delivery teams, a have experience with Project management tasks (Tracking, Risk Management and Executive Reporting)

  • Experience with or knowledge of Business Continuity Planning or Disaster Recovery tracking tools (e.g. ServiceNow)

  • Must be an advocate of Change Management

  • Minimum of Five (5) years working in IT or technology department in a technical capacity.

  • Minimum of three (3) years working on IT disaster recovery planning programs required.

  • Experience with the design, planning and testing of disaster recovery procedures.

  • In-depth understanding of IT infrastructure and different application architectures

  • Process-oriented mindset AND ability to change/adapt quickly. Not afraid of change (Agile).

  • Pertinent industry-recognized certification preferred (e.g. DRI ABCP, CBCP, AWS Cloud Practitioner, Etc.)

  • Insurance / Healthcare background is a plus

  • 3 years of BA experience preferred

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 88,400 - 147,400 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
