Role description:

Arcadis is looking for a Senior Water & Hydraulic Engineer to join our world-class firm in Toledo, Cleveland or Akron, OH working within our Water Resiliency Planning & Design Teams.

The Senior Water & Hydraulic Engineer will utilize their professional experience and technical knowledge of hydraulics, collection system planning, and computer modeling, combined with data analytics as part of our local project teams developing innovative solutions throughout the region. This is an excellent opportunity with high potential for growth, including leading and executing tasks and projects, mentoring junior staff, and developing project pursuits and opportunities.

Role Accountabilities

As a Senior Water & Hydraulic Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in hydraulics, collection system planning, and computer modeling, combined with data analytics, to guide local project teams. You will play a key role in leading projects, mentoring junior staff, and developing new business opportunities. Your work will help protect natural resources while contributing to climate change adaptation and urban resiliency.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who is eager to take on leadership responsibilities and further develop their technical skills. You will work on a range of projects that involve developing wastewater and stormwater collection system models, conducting system planning, and performing regulatory studies. In addition, you will provide valuable technical input on new and ongoing projects, guide technical teams, and help ensure the successful delivery of projects.

Key responsibilities include the development and review of technical reports, leading client presentations, coordinating project deliverables, and contributing to scope definition and project pursuits. You will also be involved in enhancing the technical knowledge within the team by attending workshops, presenting at industry events, and reviewing professional publications. Travel may be required for site visits, client meetings, or project oversight.

Required Qualifications

To be considered, candidates must have at least 7 years of experience in water and hydraulic engineering, a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, and an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification. A Professional Engineer (PE) license, or the ability to obtain one within one year of hire, is required. Strong experience with hydraulic modeling, particularly using SWMM and/or ICM, is essential, along with proficiency in GIS.

Key Skills and Attributes

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, as well as a deep understanding of wastewater hydraulic modeling and master planning

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree, project delivery experience, and familiarity with computer programming tools like Power BI or Python.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $82,400 - $146,400.
