Responsibilities
As a Contract Compliance Specialist, you will maintain construction project records and process related paperwork, monitor records to verify compliance with state and federal laws and determine payments due contractors for work completed. You will interact directly with contractors and you may support project audits as part of a team.
Prepares and submits monthly and final estimates checking calculations against work log and estimate to verify measurement and payments in accordance with the contract and specifications prior to recommending payment
Works with Project Manager to process change orders, supplemental agreements and extra work orders
Monitors contractor’s compliance with TxDOT specifications, state and federal requirements
Prepares and types correspondence, reports and supporting documents; files; orders supplies and equipment
Commutes to attend pre-construction meetings to collaborate with contractor and client bookkeepers on record-keeping and document control procedures
Verifies that changes to plan sets have been disseminated to all project staff
Performs, if directed, or supports performance of 30-60-90% audits of project records
Perform other tasks as assigned to help accomplish the Company’s strategic goals
Qualifications
High school or equivalent plus three (3) years’ experience in construction record keeping or accounting
College education or technical training in business administration or accounting may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis
Working knowledge of standard procedures relative to planning, construction and engineering fundamentals
Higher mathematics
Proficient skill in reading and interpreting applicable plans, schematics, blueprints and maps
Performing calculations using algebra, trigonometry and geometry
The use of standard office equipment
Preparing and maintaining records, files and reports
The use of personal computers and applicable programs, applications and systems
