Job Description
A line cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes according to established recipes and standards. This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Responsibilities:
Food Preparation:
Follow recipes and guidelines to prepare ingredients for cooking.
Measure and mix ingredients, season, and cook food items.
Ensure proper portion control and presentation of dishes.
Cooking:
Operate kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, grills, and fryers.
Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food is cooked correctly.
Adjust heat levels and cooking times as needed.
Quality Control:
Inspect and ensure the quality of ingredients before cooking.
Taste and evaluate dishes to ensure they meet quality standards.
Maintain consistency in food preparation and presentation.
Sanitation and Cleanliness:
Adhere to sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen.
Keep workstations clean and organized.
Properly store and label food items.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other kitchen staff to coordinate cooking times and ensure timely delivery of dishes.
Communicate effectively with the kitchen team and front-of-house staff.
Adaptability:
Be able to handle a variety of tasks and responsibilities.
Adapt to changes in the menu or kitchen procedures.
Efficiency:
Work efficiently to meet service deadlines and maintain a smooth kitchen operation.
Manage time effectively to multitask when needed.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar role is often preferred.
Knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety guidelines.
Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods.
Culinary degree or relevant certifications may be an advantage.

Pay Range
$29.30/hour. Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors including but not limited to job related knowledge, skills and job specific experience/overall experience.
