SUMMARY: Responsible for performing outbound sales calls, including cold-calling, lead follow-up and sales qualification, to develop a portfolio of buying customers while meeting or exceeding quotas.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, and achieving sales targets. Generating, evaluating, and penetrating leads to capture new business. Focus on selling across several transportation modes including Full truckload, LTL, drayage, and Intermodal. Maintain a full pipeline of opportunities. Update customer relationship management tool routinely on activities, leads, and follow ups. Meet and exceed minimum KPI requirements such as new revenue growth, gross profit, and sales calls. Provide exceptional customer experience for new accounts. Ensure customer KPI's, contractual requirements, and service expectations are met. Challenge the status quo with effective solutions and improvements to achieve branch sales goals. Be a mentor and guide for junior sales members creating a high-performance sales culture. EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in business or a related field; or a combination of post high school and equal experience may be substituted for education.
EXPERIENCE: 3 years prior sales, customer service and/or logistics experience, including knowledge of industry related issues in transportation and/or supply chain management.
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Office products, including Word, Access, Excel and customer relationship management tools, such as Salesforce.
COMPETENCIES: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop change or alternatives. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously. Ability to demonstrate effective customer services skills. Ability to utilize problem solving skills. Ability to perform accurately in a detail-oriented environment. Skill in preparing clear and concise reports, correspondences, and other written materials. The ability to onboard new accounts while making the transition seamless to the customer. Ability to build relationships with current and new accounts while sharing previous experience and/or expertise with fellow co-workers and customers.
OTHER: Ability to travel as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of a computer keyboard, viewing of a computer monitor and the ability to sit for long periods of time.
