Job Purpose: The analyzer technician will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of analytical systems for cryogenic air separation plants in Hillsboro OR. This role will also assist in the installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of relevant instrumentation and controls systems. This position requires a combination of office work and field work. Some overtime, holiday, and afterhours work will be required. Occasional travel to satellite plants within the greater Portland OR area may be required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed. Attention to detail is a must. Key Responsibilities: - Understand and adhere to company safety work policies and operating practices. Report safety incidents and near misses. - Install, startup, operate, and maintain facility analyzers and analytical system components, including associated cylinders, tubing, purifiers, sample pumps, controls, and analyzer suites. - Oversee and manage contractor activities related to analyzers and analytical systems. - Troubleshoot problems and perform corrective maintenance on analyzers and analytical system components. - Plan, schedule, coordinate, and execute planned and preventative maintenance on analyzers and analytical system components. - Plan, schedule, coordinate, and execute major maintenance, calibration, testing, and validation of analyzer systems. - Communicate status of analyzers and analytical systems to technicians, managers, contractors, and customers on a frequent routine basis. Communicate problems and progress reports as needed. - Understand how analyzers and analytical system components interact with and impact the plant processes. - Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of industrial instrumentation such as control valves, actuators, positioners, transmitters, and solenoids. - Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of process control systems. - Read, interpret, and maintain (as needed) facility documentation such as P&IDs, schematic wiring diagrams, electrical drawings, in compliance with MOC policies. - Propose, prepare, and execute projects/recommendations to improve process availability & reliability, preventative & corrective maintenance strategy, and/or work processes (focused on analytical, instrumentation, and control systems). - Identify, procure, and manage spare and replacement system components. Raise needs to management as required. - Maintain work area housekeeping and organization. Qualifications: - Proven understanding of gas analyzers, gas chromatographs and similar equipment in an industrial environment. - Completion of a formal apprenticeship program or technical degree (Associate or Bachelor's) or equivalent combination of work experience and technical education/training required. - Ability to read, interpret, and revise engineering drawings such as P&IDs, electrical drawings. - Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively. - Proficient with computers and typical computer programs (i.e. Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook) - Have working knowledge of advanced computer programs such as analyzer software. - Capable of operating a forklift and aerial work platforms according to company policy. - Capable to ascend tall structures and work at height. Also, able to access elevated electrical and mechanical equipment via ladders, scaffolding, and aerial work platforms. - Must be highly detail oriented and organized.
