GPI seeks a senior-level transportation planner to join our New England branch. We are looking for a candidate with a high energy level, a great work ethic, and a desire to learn from and mentor others. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work on multiple concurrent projects and an eagerness to be part of a team with an engaging and collaborative work environment. The key roles of the Senior Transportation Planner will involve leading or assisting in delivering multiple project types, including urban mobility studies and designs, placemaking, and public engagement across New England.

Responsibilities:
Support various project types, including studies, planning, design, permitting, and construction for public and private clients Support projects that include transportation planning, urban mobility, public transit, pedestrians and bicycles, transit-oriented developments, and downtown revitalization Contribute to the business development aspects of growing and supporting GPIs transportation, urban mobility, and urban planning sectors Lead and support public and stakeholder engagement for various projects Define public engagement strategies and develop and implement public engagement plans as part of a project Engage in all aspects of transportation planning and design processes, including analysis of site and existing conditions, conceptual ideas, and scenario developmentDesign and plan innovative transportation solutions, integrating Complete Streets concepts in both urban and suburban settingsLead multi-modal transportation analyses, addressing the needs of bicyclists, pedestrians, transit providers, drivers, and othersLead and mentor junior staff on project tasksDevelop scopes of work, budgets, and schedules, and manage tasks or projects Produce deliverables that meet or exceed client expectations
Qualifications:
Ten or more years of experience in transportation planning, with an emphasis on urban mobility Excellent written, visual, and oral communication skills A bachelors degree in civil engineering, urban or community planning, or a closely related field is required. A master's degree is a plus AICP registration is preferred
The ideal candidate will also have the following:
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams on complex, multi-faceted projects Experience leading successful and inclusive community engagement processes in diverse, multicultural urban neighborhoods, including coordinating communication in multiple languages Experience leading and facilitating public meetings, open houses, and pop-up events Experience with interactive communication tools, including project surveys, infographics, StoryMaps, project websites, and interactive feedback maps Experience working with transportation data resource platforms, including StreetLight and Replica Five or more years of experience as a task manager or project manager
