What will your job look like?
The Director, Risk Management, will oversee and manage MTM’s insurance programs and risk mitigation strategy. The Director, Risk Management, will be responsible for maintaining all corporate insurance policies, ensuring adequate coverage, and work closely with Insurance Brokers, Underwriters, Claims Teams, and internal stakeholders to assess and manage risk. This role will be responsible for developing strategies that protect the company’s assets and support long-term business objectives.
What you’ll do:
Negotiate, evaluate, maintain MTM’s insurance policies and programs including, but not limited to; property and casualty insurance, workers’ compensation, general liability, auto liability, umbrella/excess coverage, flood and earthquake, cyber risk, D&O, fiduciary liability, crime, and employment practices liability
Determines subrogation options and pursues as appropriate
Maintain effective relationships with insurance brokers, underwriters and claims handlers and monitor their performance to hold them accountable for delivering value in the insurance underwriting and claims process
Drive the execution of Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) strategic initiatives including the further development of existing captive
What you’ll need:
Experience, Education & Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree with a professional qualification in insurance or risk management is required
7+ years of experience managing a captive or self-insured environment
Strong technical insurance background and experience from corporate Risk Management, Underwriting and/or brokering, with a focus on self-insurance
Experience managing senior/mid-level staff that promotes both results and team cohesiveness
Skills:
Knowledge and understanding of insurance markets, specifically within auto and general liability insurance products
Knowledge of large, self-insured retention programs
Aptitude to analyze and interpret actuarial reports
Ability to work with all levels within legal and risk functions, including insurance brokers, legal counsel, claims administrators and actuaries
Adaptability to manage multiple streams of work and multiple relationships in an effective and efficient manner
Ability to establish influential relationships with external markets including brokers, carriers, customers, industry experts and consultants to bolster innovation
Ability to understand and interpret contracts and insurance policies
Interest in alternative risk transfer solutions, multi-year structured programs, multi-line risk transfer, captives or other innovative risk capital solutions
Entrepreneurial attitude and willingness to challenge status quo ideas

Salary Min: $150,000
Salary Max: $180,000
