Biller
Location: This position will work a Hybrid Model (remote and office). Ideal candidates Must live within 50 miles or a 1 hour commute to an Elevance Health office location.
Work Shift: Monday through Friday, 7 am to 4 pm (Pacific Standard Time Zone)
The Biller is responsible for reviewing account files to ensure accuracy and completeness, maximum reimbursement, and appeal denials.
How will you make an impact:
Reviews patient account files.
Prepares and reviews billings to be submitted to primary/secondary insurance carriers and/or Medicare/MediCal.
Collects and decreases assigned Accounts Receivable focusing on high value accounts.
Manages and maintains third party accounts.
Responds to patient, insurance carrier and internal and external telephone inquiries.
Completes all denial and correspondence daily.
Prepares and submits refund requests to patients and/or insurance carriers.
Re-bills claims when not paid properly.
Minimum Requirements:
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of experience in billing and appeals process in Medicare/Medi-Cal, including medical office experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:
ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding knowledge strongly preferred.
Experience with Excel is highly preferred.
For candidates working in person or remotely in the below location(s), the pay* range for this specific position is $20.31/hr. to $30.46/hr.
