Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of growth and development. Communicates with patients in an age appropriate manner and tone. Gives personalized care during specimen collection and procedures. Uses preventative techniques to alleviate a patient's risk of hematoma and nerve injury.
Recognizes and notes unusual patient conditions that may compromise test results.
Observes patients for any signs or symptoms of physiological reactions prior too, during and after blood collections and takes appropriate emergency response measures to prevent injury and stabilize the patient (i.e., calling codes, fainting, etc.).
Makes appropriate decision when to alert nursing personnel and the laboratory supervisor when serious reactions or emergency conditions exit.
Position Summary:
As a Lab Assistant you will work in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care under the direction of a licensed clinical professional in a clinic or practice environment. A Lab Assistant performs laboratory tests, prepares samples, and produces accurate and reliable data.

Perform administrative work in addition to the collection of the samples
Draw blood
Perform office tests and administrative duties

High School diploma or equivalent required
