The Product Manager will be part of a team focused on new product development. This team's objective is to grow organization's product lines through development of advanced technologies and innovation. The technical product manager will primarily be responsible to plan, organize, and drive new product/technology development from conceptual stage through launch. The Product Manager will participate in overall product strategy, research and development requirements, development, and manufacturing coordination for new and emerging products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Strategy
Manage product and technology roadmap
Maintain product/technology strategy
Work with Marketing Communications Team and conduct market research and track trends in the target industries/applications
Identify and recommend partnering opportunities from the technology standpoint that strengthens Metrix competitive position
Develop marketing requirements documents that can communicate customer needs to Metrix Engineering
Product Development
Conduct in-depth analysis to develop technical product definitions
Ensure the marketing requirements documents are implemented by Metrix Engineering in the technical requirements documents as well as the actual product development
Provide technical justification for product selection and definition
Coordinate execution of engineering, marketing and sales activities for new product development projects
Mentor and consult with product development engineers to achieve Metrix product development goals
Prepare product development objectives and schedules for all phases of product development from concept through launch
Collaborate with sales, engineering, marketing, operations and service to develop product definitions
Product Management/Marketing
Develop and maintain product launch packages including but not limited to; product presentations, technical offers, white papers and competitive analysis materials
Assist the Marketing Communications Team, as needed
Provide product training and technical support to internal business partners; sales, service and operations
Perform customer product demonstrations and training as needed
Maintain product information (product data sheet, manuals, web information)
Participate and support efforts to position product within standard bodies (i.e. API 670, ASTM, ISO, etc.)
Additional Responsibilities:
Provides status reports to management as required.
Respond to change productively and handle other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering, or other technical related field; required
MBA, preferred
Minimum 8 or more years of Product Management experience working with vibration monitoring instruments, preferred
Language: Excellent oral, written, verbal interpersonal and presentation communication skills in national language and English language. Must be fluent in English, bilingual or multilingual a plus.
Work Skills: Solid working knowledge of assigned market segment/industry; Excellent project management, analytical, and organizational skills
Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office products, solid presentation skills including the ability to explain technologies and product features
Other:
Travel: Ability to travel 25% both domestic and international (50/50)
