Knowesis is seeking an experienced Medical Data Analyst to support the U.S. Army Public Health Center, Division of Behavioral and Social Health Outcomes Practice, Surveillance and Monitoring Section.
This position requires a Public Trust or higher and requires U.S. Citizenship (applicants without proof of US citizenship will not be considered due to the position’s security clearance requirement).
The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Review, analyze, evaluate, design, implement and maintain assigned database(s) and large data sets such as medical claims, Military administrative data and behavioral and social health data systems.
Identify data sources, assist with data collection, construct data decomposition diagrams, provide data flow diagrams, maintain documentation and develop effective business processes for effective and valid data analyses.
Develop Public Health study deliverables, surveillance, monitoring, field studies and program evaluations, research, map and document data housed in current relational databases and assist in developing the architecture for reporting objects, and design, develop, test and create accurate data analysis reports.
Develop and implement data quality assurance processes related to military Public Health data and advise multidisciplinary teams regarding the design of analytic project plans that minimize epidemiological data validity/accuracy concerns and increase quality control.
Be familiar with quantitative, qualitative and social science research techniques to develop and execute complex, mixed methods, retrospective and prospective public health studies.
Develop and prepare Public Health technical reports, business process documentation, oral reports, charts, tables and/or professional quality presentations, as required.
Topics of study include: substance use disorders, suicidal behavioral, sexual assault and other areas related to behavioral and social health.
Required Qualifications:
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products, SQL and SAS.
Understanding of generalized linear models, logistic regression, and other advanced statistical techniques. Knowledge of times series and/or survival analysis preferred.
One or more years of experience managing and linking large administrative datasets, preferably of medical data and/or military data.
Experience with data analysis or data management programs using SAS.
Experience acquiring data and performing quality assurance checks on data.
Experience preparing and reviewing data analytic plans, technical reports and deliverable, to include presentations.
Experience preparing public health charts and tables to answer public health questions related to incidence and prevalence.
An intermediate level of skill in technical writing about topics such as data methodology and statistical findings.
Strong data-related communication and presentation skills (verbal & written).
Team oriented with the ability to work closely with other team members.
Detail oriented and capable of working to meet deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate with others on projects and investigations.
Must be a U.S. citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience generating dashboards using Power BI
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in biostatistics or epidemiology
