This role is ideal for an accounting professional with a strong background in the legal industry and advanced Excel skills. The Accounting Supervisor will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accuracy in financial reporting, and support the continuous improvement of accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Supervision: Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
General Ledger Oversight: Manage and review general ledger entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
Account Reconciliation: Oversee reconciliations of key accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank accounts.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, analyzing variances and providing insights for management.
Process Improvement: Identify areas for process enhancement within the accounting department and implement best practices to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Compliance & Audit Support: Ensure adherence to industry-specific regulations and provide support for internal and external audits.
Advanced Excel Analysis: Utilize advanced Excel functions to analyze financial data and create detailed reports, supporting data-driven decision-making.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Previous experience working in the law firm industry is required.
Skills:
Advanced Excel proficiency, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and GAAP compliance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead a team effectively.
Familiarity with legal billing software and accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) is a plus.
