General Summary
This position is responsible for providing company wide support and guidance to proposal and project teams in all phases of the planning, development, submission, management, updating and analysis of CPM Schedules to insure conformance with company standard practices & project specifications.
Essential Job Accountabilities - Assist and support in
Proposals and Bids
Review project specific scheduling requirements and provide guidance to teams
Technical proposal writing for scheduling subject matter
Design and development of the proposal/bid CPM Schedule
Independently interprets and reads detailed construction drawings (Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Civil, etc.) and develops a clear understanding of work scope
New Projects
Design and development of the project schedule
Subcontractor / vendor schedule guidance
Setup of Monthly Updating and Reporting procedures
Performs QA/QC on schedule submittals for conformance with contract terms; reviews critical path, cost loading, resource loading of man-hours, schedule content, recovery schedules, use of logic relationships and lags, constraints and milestones.
Existing Projects
Provide Monthly Update support and guidance
Recognition and analysis of project impacts and delays
Provide support to project scheduling engineers
Development and maintenance of Project Controls procedures and Primavera P3/P6 desktop procedures
Work with project teams to complete as-built schedules, and in the case of delay, prepare fragnet & back up delay details
Leads all project scheduling meetings ensuring appropriate representation of project management. Prepares detailed weekly, monthly, quarterly reports and ensures distribution to appropriate staff.
Analyze construction schedules and recommend workarounds and schedule improvement ideas.
Performs schedule Time Impact Analysis for any change orders that affect the construction schedule; conducts schedule negotiations with the OAR and the contractor for any delay time settlements
Reads drawings to determine if work is in or out of scope, and understands terms and conditions of the contract to determine if any compensable or non-compensable time extensions have merit
Scheduling Procedures and Software
Development of scheduling standards and procedures
Development and implementation of P6 Web tool
Provide software tool training
Performs Program Schedule QA/QC reviews on a regular basis
Performs status updates for Program Schedules/Master Schedules on a bi-monthly basis
Supervise Project Schedulers to ensure project timelines are met and interfaces with OARs, Senior Project Managers and other site staff and contractors related to the review of CPM s Develops and maintains program schedules identifying relationships, logic, milestones, and constraints for construction projects of various types
Education
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Project Management
or 10+ years of Project Controls experience may be substituted for education
Work Experience
Experience in performing/monitoring and reviewing/planning scheduling functions, which include schedule development, control, and analysis
Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and providing innovative solutions to planning and scheduling problems
5+ years work experience in project level planning and scheduling
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
Thorough knowledge of planning and scheduling for heavy civil projects
Knowledge/experience in heavy civil construction means and methods
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word and Primavera Latest Version
Proven experience with cost and schedule databases
Exceptional problem solving skills with consistent follow through
Ability to work in high production environment and respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities with a close attention to detail
Self-starter; able to seek out resources and structure own workflow
Strong consultative and communication skills and ability to interface effectively with all levels of management, staff and external customers
Understand concepts of baseline schedule, progress schedule, recovered schedule, total float, critical path, predecessors, successors, near critical paths, float trending, percent complete, float ownership, and constraints
General knowledge of construction principles/processes, field operations and ability to read construction plans

Base Salary Range:
$126,528.00 - $189,793.00 Pay may vary based upon relevant experience, skills, location, and education among other factors.
