The Sr. Manager Business Analytics role is responsible for analyzing complex data sets to deliver insights that support business decisions and strategies. This role requires strong analytical skills, an aptitude for data and insights translation and the ability to work across different functional stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have experience in data visualization, statistical analysis and problem-solving, coupled with the ability to communicate findings to stakeholders in a clear and actionable way. The role will engage with key stakeholders across sales, marketing, integrated insights and business intelligence, DDS and Zoetis Tech and Digital organizations, and other enabling functions.
To be successful, the ideal candidate will demonstrate a thirst for knowledge and a natural curiosity to enable rapid learning of the Zoetis business model and data & analytics infrastructure at a scale to support a growing business. The position requires a candidate who is comfortable translating and connecting the business context to the technical and analytical design & execution. The successful candidate will be passionate about solving the most critical business problems through data and advanced analytics and must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, with strong independent problem-solving skills, able to lead technical teams, and be comfortable in an environment of changing priorities.
The 5 positions two will lead Brand analytics, one will lead Independent Petcare, one will lead Corporate & Specialty and one will lead Enabling Functions.
Key Responsibilities
Analytics and Insight Generation
Gather, clean, and organize large and complex datasets from various sources.
Perform analysis to identify patterns, correlations, and trends within datasets.
Translate insights to actionable recommendations aligned with business objectives.
Design business intelligence and analytics tools to track business performance across marketing, sales, and retail organizations.
Model Development and Optimization
Build advanced analytics to extract key strategic insights (product, customer, etc..) to inform key strategic decisions.
Build, test and validate predictive models to support business needs.
Implement and maintain machine learning models in production environment.
Monitor model performance and refine algorithms to ensure accuracy and relevance.
Partner with Data Governance to implement data governance framework to improve data quality, better decision-making and increased operational efficiency.
Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with senior leaders to identify opportunities for business growth and assist in implementing data-driven strategies within their departments.
Communicate insights and strategic recommendations to stakeholders at all levels, including non-technical audiences, to drive informed decision-making.
Education and Experience
Advanced degree in business analytics, computer science or engineering
7+ years' experience in analytical and decision support roles providing insights to senior commercial decision-makers. Relevant areas include Commercial Analytics, Business Intelligence, Field Force Effectiveness and/or Financial Planning & Analysis
Demonstrated experience in identifying commercial priorities and then architecting, building and deploying business analytics and intelligence platforms (Tableau, PowerBI, etc. )to create business value, preferably in sales and marketing applications
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with and effectively communicate complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
Excellent project management and time management skills
Experience in managing a diverse team and technical teams.
Demonstrated ability to engage and manage through influence across a large international organization.
Technical Skills Requirements
Ability to build effective, insightful, and interactive dashboards in Tableau or PowerBI
Ability to use core analytics methods in developing solutions (one or more of the following)
Statistics (t-tests, ANOVA) & design of experiments
Segmentation/clustering techniques
Time series analysis
Familiarity with a broad base of analytics tools (one or more of the following):
Data Management: SQL and Alteryx
BI: Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server and Tableau Online
Programming/Scripting: Python or R
Extensive experience in applied analytics for business problem solving with strong project management skills (one or more of the following): Building analytical solutions for Pricing and promotional effectiveness, Loyalty program effectiveness, Customer segmentation and targeting, Salesforce allocation and effectiveness, churn prevention.
Experience and knowledge in data engineering
