Job Description:





POSITION: Full-Time Coordinator of Instructional Technology (Coordinator of Instructional Technology): Center for Instructional Technology and Online Education; Haverhill Campus; MCCC/MTA Unit Professional Position; 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm; Pay Grade 7





SUMMARY: The Instructional Designer will support faculty in the design, development, and implementation of course content for online, hybrid, and technology-enhanced courses. This position will work closely with faculty, staff, and administrators to enhance teaching effectiveness, promote student engagement, and ensure the delivery of impactful learning experiences across all modalities.





RESPONSIBILITIES: Specific duties for this position include:





  • Collaborate on creating and refining policies, procedures, and guidelines for improving online education, using instructional technology, and implementing digital accessibility.

  • Provide pedagogical support and training to faculty in instructional design principles, best practices, and emerging technologies.

  • Lead and support emerging curriculum developments, assessment strategies, pedagogical methodologies, and revision initiatives.

  • Facilitate faculty development through workshops, training sessions, and individual consultations on instructional design and technology use.

  • Research, promote, and support the integration of teaching practices with new and emerging technologies in teaching and learning environments.

  • Conduct quality reviews of courses to ensure alignment with established quality standards and best, such as those outlined by Quality Matters or similar frameworks.

  • Support faculty in creating accessible course materials and employing inclusive teaching practices.

  • Develop and maintain training resources and documentation for instructional technologies.

  • Assist in evaluating and continuously improving online, hybrid, and technology-enhanced courses.

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for instructional technologies.

  • Stay abreast of instructional design, educational technology, emerging trends, and teaching best practices.

  • Engage in collaborative partnerships with academic departments, student services, and other stakeholders to support a holistic approach to student learning and success.

Requirements:





MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:





  • Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field; with six (6) years' experience and/or training that includes media production, instructional design, telecommunications, media education, and multimedia equipment operations in a higher education setting; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Extensive experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other instructional technologies. Blackboard experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience in online course development and teaching.

  • Strong understanding of curriculum development, instructional design principles, learning theories, and assessment practices.

  • Experience with quality assurance processes for online learning (e.g., Quality Matters, OLC Quality Scorecard)

  • Experience with faculty development, mentoring, and coaching.

  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive teaching practices.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a dynamic environment.





PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:





  • Experience with Quality Matters or similar quality assurance frameworks.

  • Experience working at a community college

  • Familiarity with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles.

  • Experience working with diverse faculty, staff, and student populations.

  • Proficiency in using various educational technologies and multimedia tools.

  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in teaching and learning.

  • Experience with assessment strategies and data analysis to inform instructional improvements

  • Teaching experience at the college level, particularly in a community college setting

Additional Information:





GRADE AND SALARY: Anticipated salary range is $80,865.00 to $86,048.00 (MCCC Pay Grade 7 with a master's degree) annually with complete fringe benefit package. Complete fringe benefit package including competitive health insurance, free dental insurance, basic life insurance, long-term disability insurance, paid sick, vacation and personal leave, educational benefits for employee/spouse/dependents, and excellent retirement benefits. Actual salary calculated in compliance with MCCC/MTA classification system. Official transcripts will be required at the time of hire.
