Position Overview
The Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of North Texas (UNT) is seeking candidates for an open rank tenure-track or tenured faculty position starting Fall 2025. The position is open to all areas in electrical engineering with an emphasis on semiconductor devices, microelectronics, autonomous systems, robotics, and intelligent systems.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must have an earned Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field by the time of employment. The ideal candidate should hold a terminal degree in the discipline or having equivalent applied experience, appointed to perform the responsibilities of teaching, scholarship, and service. Candidates who are ABD will be considered, but the position requires completion of degree by date of appointment.
Candidates seeking appointment at the Associate or Full Professor rank should have a sustained record of scholarship and external research funding, successful mentoring of junior faculty, undergraduate and graduate students, and recognized service activities. Must meet UNT's criteria for tenure at the appropriate rank.
Preferred Qualifications
A strong record of scholarly publications; Demonstrated potential for securing externally funded research; Commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring graduate students; Ability to engage in interdisciplinary research and collaborate with other departments or institutions.
