Job Description:




The mission of Clark University's Mosakowski Institute for Public Enterprise (MIPE) is to innovate in the creation and delivery of behavioral health services responsive to the needs of adolescents, young adults and their families.




MIPE is re-imagining an integrated behavioral health system for all adolescents and young adults that will: provide adolescents and young adults with high quality, evidence based culturally relevant behavioral health services; equip youth, families and educators with accurate information on mental health diagnoses and the behavioral health services and resources available in their region; support behavioral health practitioners by developing and delivering digital Social-Emotional Learning and behavioral health interventions that foster resiliency in youth; build capacity of educators and practitioners by offering online certification programs so they can provide state-of-the-art Social-Emotional Learning interventions; collaborate with others to maximize the reach and impact of our behavioral health care model for adolescents and young adults; and conduct cutting edge research to advance new evidence and learning about meeting the behavioral health needs of adolescents and young adults, particularly young men of color.




MIPE seeks to fill the position of Director of Research for the Mosakowski Institute. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Translational Research will provide leadership and management in research areas related to the MIPE's mission. The Director of Translational Research will manage the research portfolio of MIPE and lead the institute's strategic planning initiatives related to research.








Duties and Responsibilities:





  • Sets the research agenda for MIPE for matters pertaining to behavioral health.

  • Conceptualizes a program of research that bridges technology and behavioral health.

  • Assembles a team of researchers that establish the evidence base for MIPE behavioral health interventions and their impact on student outcomes.

  • Determines the efficacy and effectiveness of behavioral health interventions on student outcomes.

  • Develops, tests, and conducts research to establish the evidence base for behavioral health interventions that are developed and marketed by MIPE.

  • Recruits, trains and supervises two post-doctoral fellows.

  • Translates research and findings into academic programs.

  • Presents research findings and disseminates knowledge broadly in multiple forums such as with all levels of local, state, and federal policy-making officials; behavioral health organizations and professionals; online websites, peer reviewed journals, professional meetings, community forums, etc.

  • Collaborates with the Office of Graduate and Professional Programs at Clark University to develop online programs and course offerings.

  • Collaborates with research centers at Clark and other academic institutions external to Clark.

  • Other duties as assigned; depending on needs of the institute.









Requirements:





  • An understanding and commitment to the primary mission of MIPE.

  • 7-10 years of strong management/leadership and scholarly research.

  • Ph.D. in clinical psychology or behavioral sciences is preferred, but not required.

  • A track record of scholarly activity, including publications in peer reviewed journals, books or curricula that has been used in broad contexts (nationally) preferred.

  • Experience developing curriculum content for online programs in areas such as advanced statistical methods.

  • Exceptional data analytic and research methodology skills with extensive training and experience in Implementation Science.

  • Expert in designing, implementing and evaluating large scale community-engaged research programs, particularly in school settings.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within and across multi-disciplinary teams and departments.

  • Demonstrated track record in securing external funding and managing budgets is preferred.

  • Experience with writing and securing grants from state agencies and non-profit foundations.

  • Experience in developing data sharing agreements preferred.

  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills and evidence of providing effective leadership.
