As a Department Enrollment Specialist, your role is pivotal in engaging with prospective students and guiding them through their educational journey within the assigned department at the University of Pittsburgh's School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (SHRS). You will be responsible for a wide range of activities, including interacting with prospective students, coordinating recruitment events, managing prospects, attending recruitment fairs, and participating in information sessions. In addition to your department-specific duties, you may be required to cross-train in programs beyond your assigned department. Job Summary
Represents the University in new student recruitment and participates in the evaluation of applicants. Participates in recruitment activities and projects, both in and out of state.
Essential Functions
Oversees and coordinates recruitment and enrollment efforts for all academic programs in the assigned department.
Develops and implements strategies to recruit a diverse pool of potential applicants.
Corresponds and interacts with prospective students, applicants, advisors, and others seeking information on admissions standards, academic programs, and student activities following established procedures and precedents.
Determines student eligibility to assigned programs and resolves complex problems as necessary.
Travels within and out of state for recruitment activities such as conducting information sessions and tabling at colleges, college fairs and conferences.
Assists with nurturing prospective students through the enrollment funnel with the goal of application and enrollment in assigned programs.
Conducts informational meetings and tours with prospective students and their families.
Monitors progress of applicants and maintains a strong understanding of the enrollment funnel for each assigned program.
Maintains communications and records of barriers via prospective student database.
Coordinates and participates in recruitment activities hosted by academic programs.
Other duties as assigned.
