About This Role: As a Medical Science Director within the Global Medical Affairs Department, you will spearhead the development of the publications strategy for nephrology indications, outlining key scientific statements to support the development and execution of strategic publication plans for each indication. You will lead cross-functional working groups to foster alignment. As an integral member of the Medical Affairs team, you will contribute to the strategic direction of our nephrology portfolio.

What You'll Do:


  • Lead the development of the core scientific platform and strategic publication plan for each indication.

  • Development of timely literature summaries, highlighting key new publications in the literature relevant for the programs.

  • Responsible for medical communications vendor management to ensure projects are completed on time and to a high standard.

  • Responsible for ensuring that all publications shared externally are aligned to the global publication plan and were generated following Biogen SOPs and industry standard publication practices.

Who You Are: You are a seasoned professional with a robust background in medical affairs. Communication, both written and verbal, is one of your strong suits, and you excel at project management. You are adept at working cross-functionally and navigating complex regulatory landscapes.

Qualifications

Required Skills:


  • MD, PharmD, or PhD in a relevant life science field.

  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in Medical Affairs, including at least 3 years of experience in strategic publications planning.

  • Proven track record in scientific communications.

  • Experience leading scientific symposia and educational initiatives.

  • Exceptional project management abilities.

  • Strong ability to work effectively in a matrix environment.

  • Superior scientific acumen and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:


  • Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional project management.

  • Experience managing external vendors and overseeing project budgets.

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is $175,000 - $291,000. Base salary is determined by a combination of factors including, but not limited to, job related years of relevant experience, internal equity, and location of the job. Additionally, this role is eligible for participation in Biogen's LTI grants and other incentive programs.
