We are currently looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to join our team in Decatur, Illinois.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Reporting directly to the Q. A. Manager, the Quality Assurance Manager is responsible to facilitate the development, implementation and adherence to the QMS (Quality Management system. Working with other staff to establish procedures and quality standards and to monitor these against agreed targets.

Task and Responsibilities:

Safety:

  • Sets an example for all plant employees by performing all quality functions in a safe manner and encourages safety as a staff member on the plant floor.
  • Ensure outside visitors are aware of, and, comply with Nortrak safety practices and requirements.

Quality:

  • Take a lead role to facilitate timeliness when a customer complaint is received.
  • Define the levels of incoming, in-process, and final inspections suitable to the product and process.
  • Schedule audits and ensure they are performed to a suitable standard, ensure deficiencies are recorded and addressed with appropriate corrective actions.
  • Develop, maintain and control quality records associated to product verification, measuring equipment calibration and material certification.
  • Actively ensures compliance with the Nortrak QMS.
  • Responsible for Quality Control Analysis. Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  • Troubleshoot and determine causes of operating errors and decide what to do about it.
  • Operation Monitoring. Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure an equipment is working properly.
  • Systems Evaluation. Identifying measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system.
  • Responsible to maintain CAR’s and ensure effective corrective action are implemented and effective.
  • Establish process continual improvement systems for the plant.
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to analyze information, apply strategic planning to work.
  • Must have a deep understanding of pharmacology.

On-Time Delivery:

  • Performs duties as required to ensure that customer delivery commitments can be met and files quality records in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that customer complaints are addressed and monitored, to ensure customer satisfaction.

Costs:

  • Champions the use of SAP CAR system and Gauge Control processes.
  • Lead continual improvement to QMS.

People:

  • Acts as a leader promoting a Quality culture.
  • Helps to train employees to avoid production of non-conforming product.
  • Effectively liaises with customer.

Environmental:

  • Adhere to Nortrak's Environmental Procedures, Practices and Policies.
  • Assign specific tasks and duties to ensure effective Environmental Management System (EMS).
  • Promote continual improvement of EMS.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other suitable discipline.

Field of Experience:

  • 3 or more years relevant Quality Assurance experience.
  • 3 years’ experience in a managerial level position.
  • Must have experience in Process Improvement and Quality Engineering.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
  • Exhibit strong and effective verbal and communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess strong problem solver skills.
  • Experience training employees would be an asset.
  • Able to plan, organize, and exhibit excellent follow-up skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to address concerns and communicate to employees in daily crew talks.
  • Experience training employees would be an asset.
  • Able to plan, organize, and exhibit excellent follow-up skills.
  • Ability to write clear and concise written procedures.
  • Shows strong attention to details and thoroughness.
  • Experience in dealing with complexity.

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or climbing.
  • Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly lift and move up to 10-15 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 70 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Hearing abilities related to job assigned.
