The E.W Scripps Company is seeking a Receptionist. This person will be responsible for greeting visitors and deal with inquiries on the phone and face to face. Supply information regarding the organization to the general public, clients and customers.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Operate telephone to answer, screen, or forward calls, providing information, taking messages, or scheduling appointments.
Greet persons entering establishment, determine nature and purpose of visit, and direct or escort them to specific destinations.
Provide information to callers
Deal with queries from the public and customers
Ensures knowledge of staff movements in and out of organization
General administrative and clerical support
Prepare letters and documents in support of business operations as approved by supervisor
Schedule appointments
Tidy and maintain the reception area
Open, sort and distribute incoming correspondence, including faxes and email.
Conduct research and prepare research findings for special projects as assigned
Read and analyze incoming memos, department requests, and reports and prioritize their distribution or provide support as needed.
Perform general office duties such as ordering supplies, maintaining records management systems, and performing basic bookkeeping work.
Maintain inventory flow and storage of office supplies
Participate in building safety and evacuation team at supervisors’ direction
Perform other duties as needed and as directed by supervisor/management.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
High school diploma required
1 - 2 years of office experience
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
Resourceful, self-motivated, and independent with the ability to deal with people of all levels within and outside the organization
Ability to multi-task
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
Knowledge of computers and relevant software applications
Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
Proficient with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
