Program Manager
Albuquerque, NM (on-site Kirtland AFB)
The Ideal Candidate will:
Has program management or extensive project management (PM) experience leading or supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs, preferably space programs/projects, with strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, space systems, space operations, and systems engineering principles and practices., Has experience with developing space mission system hardware - prototyping, assembly integration & testing (AI&T), and flight operations.
This opportunity allows you to lead a multi-contractor team as Aegis/prime PM supporting the Air Force Research Laboratory Space Vehicle Directorate (AFRL RV) to demonstrate the viability of innovative space technologies as well as provide cradle-to-grave support to ground, high-altitude balloon, near-space, and spaceflight experiments. In this role, you will report directly to Aegis' Vice President, Space & Defense Services, and directly support and be accountable to AFRL RV's Integrated Experiments and Evaluation (RVE) division chief located at Kirtland Air Force Base (AFB) in Albuquerque, NM.

Responsibilities
The Aegis PM will lead a team of contractors supporting AFRL RVE projects, which include conducting experiments on high-altitude balloons; design, A&IT, and operations of small to EELV Secondary Payload Adapter (ESPA) Grande sized satellites; development of spacecraft and space payload representative digital models or “twins”; and streamlining the acquisition process between the stages of analysis, prototyping, enterprise testing, and establishment of programs of record (PORs). The PM will be:
Directly accountable for contract support to the AFRL RVE Division Chief.
Report directly to Aegis VP, Space & Defense Services.
Manage and report on contract performance, which includes cost, schedule, technical performance, and risk associated with all RVE activities tasked for support by the RVE Division Chief in accordance with the contract.
Ensure availability and readiness of RVE facilities and government furnished equipment (GFE).
Provide day-to-day management of the contractor team (Aegis and subcontractors) and vendors/suppliers.
Coordinate contractor work with government activities to execute RVE's missions, objectives, and goals.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
10+ years PM experience related to DoD & major space systems/programs.
Active Top Secret SCI clearance (or clearance in eligible status pending assigned billet).
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Space Systems, Space Operations, Systems Engineering, or other technical field from US accredited institution.
Located or ability to relocate to or vicinity of Albuquerque, NM—work to be performed on Kirtland AFB (no remote option available).
Desired Experience:
Master's degree in degree in Business Administration and/or Mechanical, Electrical, Space Systems, Space Operations, Systems Engineering, or other technical field from US accredited institution.
Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) program management certification University (DAU) PM or Program Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
5+ years' experience directly working within an acquisition category (ACAT) space program in a PM or PM supporting role.
Knowledge and practical experience of the following: employment of artificial intelligence (AI) to streamline, accelerate, and derisk research & development (R&D) and project/program execution; model-based system engineering (MBSE) to create development and support of digital models/twins; and working with US Space Force (USSF) customers such as AFRL, Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC), and Space Systems Command (SSC) customers.
