Pricing Analyst
Location - Remote in Eastern or Central Time Zone US
Job Summary
The Pricing Analyst (PA) supports the design, implementation, ongoing maintenance, and review of pricing and discount programs. This support will be in a manner consistent with achieving the company's sales, margin, and brand positioning objectives. The PA will primarily be responsible for the creation and routine maintenance of price lists for Kennametal's Advance Material Solutions (AMS) business unit which includes metal powder and hardfacing products. Additionally, the PA will work closely with sales leaders, product managers, business unit leaders, operations and on an independent basis to perform data analysis and develop market, product and customer specific pricing strategies. This analysis and strategy will create the basis for future price setting measures as well as business objectives for both pricing and distribution.

Key Job Responsibilities
Creation, maintenance and distribution of price lists (regional, customer, distributor, product, etc)
Track raw material indexes and routinely adjust prices to limit cost exposure impact
Track competitive pricing trends in the marketplace
Analyze and process special price requests, quotations, and proposals from both outside and inside sales teams for multiple product lines
Complete pricing requests and manage prioritization to ensure timely completion
Interpret results of analytical insights and communicate results to business leaders to drive value.
Work directly with sales leaders, product managers, business unit leaders, and on an independent basis to perform data analysis and develop market, product and customer specific pricing strategies.
Analyze sales and margin data to determine how a price change or implementation will affect the division's market share and profitability
Track, monitor, and analyze key success metrics of all pricing actions and strategies to ensure analytics are delivering desired business impact.
Assist with pricing and quotation procedure changes and improvements
Ensure compliance (SOX, etc.)
Requirements
Bachelor's degree, with a major in an analytical discipline (e.g., Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Business Management, Mathematics, DATA Management/Analytics, or related fields)
1-3 years working in a business analysis role, or recent graduate with superior skill set
Experience working in a pricing analyst role preferred
Demonstrate proficient background with data modeling and trending
Must have experience with database creation and management, involving manipulation of large datasets from multiple sources
Outstanding time management skills with organized habits with sound communication skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong skills in Microsoft Excel with working knowledge of other computer programs (e.g., MS Word, Outlook, Access, SAP, Tableau, Powder BI)
