Overview
Prepare quantity take-off and cost estimates for projects for the Construction Management team. Perform project management of awarded contracts including material ordering, scheduling, installation vendor selection and oversight.
Responsibilities
Interpret building construction drawings and establish subcontractor scopes of work
Perform digital takeoffs utilizing computer-based takeoff software.
Identify and establish a subcontractor base in various geographical regions of our working area.
Transmit plans and specifications to subcontractors for bidding purposes.
Establish bidding timelines with subcontractors to ensure receipt of bids.
Ensure bidding subcontractors have all necessary documentation required by Janus International to perform work on our behalf.
Assist in pre-construction walkthroughs with project management staff.
Assist the Project Management staff with subcontractor pricing and contracts.
Continually update upper management of all active and completed pricing exercises.
Create detailed schedules of value for all priced projects with subcontractor backup.
Present project scopes/bids/schedule/pricing to upper management for review
Assist in reviewing and vetting subcontractor bids ensuring the correct scopes of work are priced.
Assist the Project Management staff in creating a baseline, critical path schedule based on the subcontractor and historical data.
Work with other departments and internal staff to ensure compliance with Janus International Groups operational standards.
Assist the Project Management staff in pulling or establishing permits for various projects.
Research and identify the potential need for business licenses in varying markets.
Assist with contract scope review to ensure proper scopes are included.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of one to three years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
Intermediate computer skills required including proficiency with MS Office & takeoff software.
Travel up to 20%.
Ability to effectively communicate with subcontractors, architects, engineers, customer representatives & internal staff.
Ability to read and understand blueprints. Possess a general knowledge of construction means & methods.
