Sr P&O Director

The Sr P&O (People & Organization) Director plays a critical role in developing and deploying the enterprise and functional People & Organization (P&O) Strategy & Priorities. Including and not limited to driving functional strategic talent agenda, fostering a culture where all associates can thrive & driving a steps change within our Equity, Inclusion and Diversity agenda. Through the leadership of the P&O Business Partner s, this role plays a critical role ensuring that functional People plans are developed in line with the Enterprise People Strategy & are inclusive of talent, organizational development, culture and performance . Additionally, the Snr Business Partner will play a critical leadership role in supporting or co-leading successful transversal enterprise initiatives to drive overall unit effectiveness through associate performance, including leadership development . As a key successor role to multiple NA POLT VP's, this role may also take on broader North American P&O initiatives from time-to-time.

What are we looking for?


  • Minimum qualification: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources , Business, Management or related field

  • 1 5 years of Business Partnership or progressive P&O experience

  • Solid knowledge of HR practices and understand ing of their application in solving business needs and ability to provide guidance

  • 5 or more years of progressive P&O leadership experience

  • Demonstrated capability in deploying strategies at an enterprise le vel

  • Demonstrated experience using the organizational development life cycle (hypothesis, data, analytics insights, diagnosis, creation of strategy or intervention, deployment, measure and sustain) or other functional equivalent

  • Demonstrated capability in leading medium scale change management (ex. functional level change initiatives)

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills, using a comprehensive approach with strong attention to detail

  • Previous line management experience

What will be your key responsibilities?


  • Partner with the P&O VP & POLT members to establish and deploy short and long term strategies in the areas of culture, talent, and organizational development to drive business success; ensure the people agenda is deployed and effectively actioned while driving a balance of business and associate advocacy across our Demand & Corporate Functions.

  • Use Organizational Development (OD) principles and data analytics to guide rigorous people plans and strategies for demand & corporate functions that support business growth and associate development/engagement; develop and engage in appropriate OD interventions that strengthen the health of the organization and enable a high performance culture

  • Build effective partnerships with the broader P&O enterprise, including MyP&O and all Centers of Expertise (ex. Associate Relations, Rewards, Talent, etc.) to collaboratively design and deploy interventions specific to Pet Nutrition needs, or to deploy global standard processes;

  • Drive efficiency across the P&O operating model by facilitating the adoption of Mars signature programs, leading and managing unit specific projects, and providing P&O support to functional leadership teams.

  • Act as a trusted coach and credible partner to multiple senior leaders

  • Play a critical role in developing P&O Capabilities and ensuring we have strong functional talent for the future
