Overview

Liberal Studies is seeking an experienced Associate Director for Advising Operations. Reporting to the Associate Dean of Students, the Associate Director oversees student support operations for the student advising and student success areas of Liberal Studies. Report, generate, and share student success with academic advisors. Partner with key offices (Student Success, Registrar, Communications) to evaluate reports and coordinate outreach with advising staff throughout the year, timed at key moments in the student support lifecycle. Develop systems that support the student advising experiences, provide oversight of project planning in multiple programming areas, coordinate strategic communications for new & returning students, and manage funding for co-curricular programming. Assess efforts collaboratively to ensure advising objectives are met; using data to identify patterns and offer insights that will be used to make informed organizational decisions. Support onboarding for new advisors as well as ongoing professional development for continuing advisors.



Responsibilities

Required Education:
Master's Degree Public Administration, Business Administration, Liberal Arts discipline or relevant field (Higher Education Administration)

Required Experience:
5+ years of demonstrated progressively responsible and successful experience in advising and administration

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment. Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills. Superior presentation, written and verbal communication skills. Possess a strong commitment to student success through the use of innovation, and data-informed decision making. Demonstrated ability to identify, resolve, and consult on a wide range of administrative and operations issues with a clear sense of institutional needs and priorities. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Knowledge of analytics tools (e.g.Tableau) and experience with data analysis. Adept at report writing and presenting findings.



Qualifications

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $75,000.00 to USD $95,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
