The University of Denver is seeking motivated and qualified lifeguards to start this summer season. Lifeguards play a crucial role in the safety and health of the DU community.
This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.
Essential Functions
Prevent and respond to any and all emergencies quickly and appropriately.
Prevent emergencies from arising by enforcing all rules and regulations.
Perform daily maintenance tasks to ensure the safety and heath of patrons and the facilities.
Attend scheduled quarterly inservices to maintain proper training.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Willingness to learn and comply with our facility specific health and safety procedures.
Ability to sit and stand while maintaining focus for extended periods of time.
Ability to communicate efficiently and professionally with other faculty, staff, and patrons.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of 16 years of age.
Current American Red Cross lifeguard certification, or willingness to obtain a Red Cross lifeguard certification.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous lifeguarding or aquatics experience.
Work Schedule
Flexible shifts available from 7:45am to 8:30pm. This includes weekends and holidays.

Hourly Range
The hourly range for the position is $18.29 - $21.00.
The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate's sex or any other protected status.
