Field Supplies & Equipment Manager Job Description
Job Summary:
The Field Supplies & Equipment Manager is responsible for all inventory control of all field tools, field consumables, field ancillary supplies and equipment. Including the proper maintenance of all field equipment as it rotates in from to Henderson from the field assignments for PTT Ground and PTT Elevated. Works Field Foremen and Superintendents to keep consumable stocked at all times to assure timely prompt deliveries as needs arise. Keeps spare equipment for rotation as needed.
Job Duties:
Take calls, emails and text messages from all field foreman / project managers for their field supply consumable and equipment needs.Pull all items/products that are requested for a job and palletize it so it can be delivered to the jobsite.Request quotes from our vendors for any items that a foreman has requested that is not in our stock. Forward the quotes to purchasing to order.Manage the field consumable and supply inventory levels and provide purchasing with a list for what needs to be replenished.Track all consumable distribution against the job numbers so accurate costs can be applied to those jobs. This will be done through our Tekla inventory management system.Perform cycle counts to ensure the inventory counts in the system match the product in the inventory.Inventory and track all field equipment, including generators, welding machines, wire feeders, rigging equipment, fit-up gear, welding machine parts, scaffold brackets, scaffold boards, etc. in and out of the warehouse and account for which field foreman have what.Collaborate with all field foreman and superintendents to help them with product options that could help them with their jobs.Work with the maintenance department to ensure all equipment is in good working order.Develop an equipment replacement plan with budgets for what equipment needs to be replaced based on age, condition and repair costs. This will be a collaborative effort with our maintenance department.
Qualifications:
High School diploma/GED or above Field Operations experience required. Warehouse or shop experience helpful. Managerial or supervisory experience required Demonstrates strong communication skills Ability to work well with people at all levels Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills Knowledge of safety protocols Manages time effectively Detail-oriented Demonstrates strong organizational skills Able to operate heavy machinery Some experience in lean manufacturing desired but not mandatory
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts consistent with a fabrication shop environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to changing weather conditions and working at moderate heights. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
