We are seeking a full-time Supervisor Reliability Lab in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising the activities of the Reliability Lab functions to assess, improve, or troubleshoot product quality and reliability in addition to providing leadership and accountability to maintain effectiveness and improve the performance of the functions to meet assigned requirements.
Essential Functions
Ensure that all associates comply with work procedures/corporate policies through ongoing review, training, and performance evaluations
Supervise Reliability Lab testing associates to ensure associates understand their assigned tasks, perform tasks as assigned, and comply with all company policies in the performance of work
Supervise the daily work activities of the Reliability Lab to provide for effective scheduling and throughput performance while maintaining priorities with other Garmin departments
Create, review, and/or issue testing programs, fixtures, procedures and work instructions
Implement and provide delivery of training programs and maintain training status for the Reliability Lab associates to cover workplace and environment safety and emergency shutdown of equipment/devices
Review Engineering Change Orders (ECO's) and product Master Production Schedule (MPS) to implement actions to update test programs/procedures
Team with Manufacturing and Engineering to facilitate effective testing schedules and quality information to help identify reliability issues
Maintain/ensure the integrity of testing records and data collection as implemented on an ongoing basis
Coordinate operation, maintenance and repair activities to obtain optimum utilization of machines and systems
Execute reliability testing in alignment with the requirements of a technician in support of lab deliverables to the business
Create/distribute product test reports and operational performance reports as directed by management
Lead resources/systems for the calibration of Garmin IMTE including: calibration schedules and recall system, procedure and work instruction development and maintenance, record keeping, and equipment standards/purchases
Apply expertise to continuously improve products, processes and associates, report department needs to management, and interview/furnish justifications along with recommendations to hire additional staff
Present all requests, or suggestions to management with appropriate technical and supporting data
Notify management of any conditions felt as being undesirable including conditions effecting; associates and property safety, associate discrimination, or any other disregard of company policies by other persons
Mentor/coach associates when necessary, conduct performance evaluations, and partner with Human Resources for recruiting/resolving associate relations issues
Comply with all corporate/departmental policies in the performance of work or workplace activities
Perform any tasks or duties required to support the Garmin International operation, as directed by department or corporate management on an as needed basis
Maintain effective work area organization/cleanliness to provide for: operator safety, and assurance from product or equipment damage or contamination that could be caused by any foreign materials such as Electro Static Discharge (ESD) producing materials, food or drinks
Basic Qualifications
Associate's Degree in Electronics, Electronics Technology, or related degree or Military Electronics, Reliability or Calibration experience OR a minimum of 2 years relevant work experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description
Must possess previous demonstrated leadership experience
Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office applications
Demonstrated excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize/multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment while meeting deadlines and must possess excellent time management/follow-up skills
Demonstrated superior organizational/analytical skills with keen attention to detail/quality
Must possess the ability to move, work and test equipment to and from the work area to initiate and complete essential functions assigned
Must possess the ability to bend, twist and lift up to 55 pounds while using safe lifting techniques, standing for an entire shift and walking long distances throughout the facility
Desired Qualifications
Previous supervisory experience in a testing or calibration lab, manufacturing, warehouse or operations related environment
Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering, Engineering Technology or Operations related field
Previous Electronics Technician or Test Technician experience
