Nemours Children's Health is seeking a Pediatric Nephrologist to join our growing team of three physicians in the Delaware Valley.
This exciting opportunity offers the best of both worlds, with inpatient pediatric care in a free-standing state-of-the-art Children's Hospital in the main campus in Wilmington, Delaware with access to all the pediatric subspecialty services and academic engagement opportunities as well as private-practice style outpatient clinic setting in Wilmington and Abington, Pennsylvania. The successful candidate will contribute to the on-call schedule as 1:4 call at the Nemours Children's Hospital and will precept residents and medical students in their clinics in rotation with the other attendings.
In addition to the support of nurse educators, a social worker, a dietician, and an administrative assistant, the division works in close collaboration with our team of pediatric rheumatologists, pediatric urologists, specialized renal and interventional radiologists, and a pediatric kidney transplant program. Experienced Pediatric Nephrologists are encouraged to apply.
This key position represents an outstanding opportunity to help facilitate the continued growth phase of Nemours Children's Health in the Delaware Valley. We have busy outpatient practices with strong ancillary support including advanced practice providers, nurses, social work, and nutritional services. Research opportunities are encouraged, along with teaching pediatric residents, with academic appointment awarded by Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University.
The division provides a complete range of inpatient and outpatient pediatric nephrology services, including management of patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, inpatient and outpatient plasmapheresis services, all modalities of renal replacement therapy (CRRT, PD, and HD - with and without ECMO), and kidney transplantation. We have a dedicated children's dialysis unit with 6 chairs and 5 pediatric dialysis nurses. The division has innovative clinical programs including a large ambulatory blood pressure monitoring program, an active telemedicine nephrology-driven program that offers care for patients from long distances, and multi-disciplinary William's syndrome clinic, sickle cell disease clinic and kidney stone clinic. Additionally, the division is very active in large multicenter QI and research collaborative studies including Pediatric Nephrology Research Consortium (PNRC), IROC, and NAPTRCS which affords ample clinical research opportunities. There are teaching opportunities that include medical students and pediatric residents from our NCH residency program.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a busy practice in one of the Northeast's most desirable communities. Located in the Northeast corridor, Wilmington provides limitless cultural and professional opportunities given its easy access and proximity to major metropolitan areas while being nestled in the bucolic Brandywine Valley. As the center of commerce and culture in Delaware, Wilmington combines the amenities and excitement of big city living with the peace and charm of a small town.
