WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the testing and commissioning of complex Audio-Visual (AV) systems, both during and after the build phase. You will provide technical and leadership support for major tasks and assignments, ensuring that project objectives are met through clear goals and actionable plans. Working closely with the Project Manager, you will also document and deliver test results for system testing and commissioning.
Day-To-Day Responsibilities:
Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints to understand system requirements.
Test point-to-point functionality of AV systems to ensure all components are operating correctly.
Review project Scope of Work (SOW) to ensure that installations are complete and meet quality standards.
Test integrated systems and perform troubleshooting for QSC/Crestron and DSP systems.
Field installation of control programs (QSC/Crestron) including upload and download capabilities.
Write code for DSP systems as required (QSC & Biamp)
Make minor programming changes (under the guidance of engineers or programmers) to ensure system optimization.
Fine-tune audio-video systems to deliver optimal performance.
Configure IP addressable devices to establish network communication.
Conduct client training and provide final job documentation as needed.
Act as a liaison to the client in the absence of the Project Manager.
Create and manage a project punchlist, tracking and completing outstanding tasks.
Travel to job sites as needed to support project implementation.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Must-Haves:
Strong communication skills, able to interact with internal teams, clients, and colleagues in a professional and timely manner.
Proven business writing skills for clear, concise documentation.
Proficiency with test and calibration equipment used for AV systems.
Experience supporting user acceptance testing to ensure system readiness.
Basic programming capability for QSC/Crestron systems, including troubleshooting and minor adjustments.
Problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex AV system issues.
Knowledge of advanced signal flow for audio, video, and control systems.
Understanding of IP networking and its application in AV systems.
Advanced PC proficiency, particularly with AV-related software and tools.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, capable of adapting to shifting priorities and meeting deadlines.
Attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
Valid Driver's License with a motor vehicle record that meets AVI-SPL's driving standards.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work at heights (up to 35 feet), and regularly lift equipment, tools, and materials.
Nice-To-Haves:
Formal education in Electronics or a related field is preferred.
5+ years of AV installation experience or equivalent professional experience.
Bachelor's degree or military experience may be considered in lieu of specific job experience.
Experience with Enterprise VC solutions (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, BlueJeans, Cisco Telepresence) including both hardware and software.
AVIXA General CTS (Certified Technical Specialist) certification is a plus.
