Job Description Summary


Clinical position requiring specialized research training and expertise in planning and execution of clinical research projects in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health; assists with the implementation of research studies in extramurally funded studies of mental health, cognitive control and flexibility, emotional regulation using a variety of methodologies including clinical trials, neuropsychological testing, EEG, neuroimaging. Primary role would be in the State of Ohio Adversity and Resilience Study (SOAR). SOAR is a state of the art, multigenerational study of family units that focuses on a biopsychosocial model of the risk for, expression of, and mitigation of persistent distress, suicide, and overdose. The study includes a brain-based study of health of up to 1200 families and 3600 individuals. Duties include; enrolls and interviews study participants; conducts and supervises assessments to determine diagnoses; supports emergency management routines and call in behavioral health, navigates local and community support resources and engages with families to ensure understanding, assists in performing statistical analyses and writing and preparing manuscripts, articles, and research reports for publication and presentation; assist with writing grants applications to obtain funding to support research; provides supervision for research assistants and diagnostic interviewers; attends assessment, intervention and comprehensive research team meetings weekly. Requires some in-state travel.




MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling or education accepted by the State of Ohio for licensure. Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) required. 1 year of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.




DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS


A minimum of two years of experience working with patients with mental illness and/or substance use disorders is also desired. Experience in neuroimaging preferred; ability to translate, adapt and apply academic or practical knowledge in the conduct of biological/health science research preferred.



Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidates may be required to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
