Job Description:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Schedules surgical services and appointments for radiology procedures for patients at JMH according to the requirements of the customer. Obtains all requested information/data including pre-authorization. Documents to allow for timely and accurate billing to third party payers and patients. Answers telephone call requests from customers, including Medical Staff, medical office staff, patients, and other departments utilizing the scheduling module.

Reviews Inpatient/Observation/Outpatient ancillary service orders for prior authorization (PA), pre- certification, and benefits verification. Enters information into JMH computer system. Accurately scans verification sheets, PA referrals, pre-certifications, and other referrals received from insurance companies.

Provides coverage for the Patient Services Representatives (which includes front desk coverage and referral coordination functions).

Works closely with the JMH Admissions /Case Management/Patient Accounts Departments.

Coordinates with interdisciplinary departments to ensure patient is scheduled in a timely manner with no overlap of service.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Conducts all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and Johnson Memorial Health policies and procedures including Blood and Body Substance Precautions.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

Must have High School diploma or equivalent. Previous medical coding and scheduling work experience preferred. Previous work experience in surgical physician office preferred.

Monday-Friday; 8am-5pm
