Overview
The 7C/11K Monitor Technician (MT)/HUC is part of the health care team, providing support as the telemetry technician and Health Unit Coordinator.
You will assist nursing staff through constant observation of the telemetry monitoring system.
You will constantly observe hospital-wide telemetry, including:
Rhythm and rate identification
Documentation
Immediate notification to nursing staff of any changes in the patient’s telemetry pattern
On 7C/11K, the MTs are cross-trained and serve as HUCs, where they provide unit clerical support, unit communication, and other miscellaneous activities including those outlined in the HUC position description.
