Role: Quality Test Technician


In this role, see yourself in support of final performance testing on distribution transformers. You will perform all electrical tests required by ANSI Standards to establish pass / fail of transformers, including but not limited to:

  • Assisting with analyzing part failures, identifying root cause and making recommendations;
  • Performing all required electrical, thermal, sound, and impulse testing: applied voltage, induced voltage, load/no-load loss, resistance, heat-run, high voltage surge;
  • Implement corrective/preventive actions;
  • Collect, enter and analyze test data into Test Bay Application, Test program, or Excel spreadsheet;
  • Read and interpret information from bill of material packet for information concerning connections, special testing, customer requirements, etc.;
  • Move transformers into and out of inspection area with crane;
  • Assist in maintenance of test equipment;
  • Make test adapters from raw materials;

Requirements:

Basic Requirements:

  • Knowledge of and skill to perform operations in arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and statistics;
  • Attention to detail and ability to communicate with varying levels of employees;
  • Ability to work within the WEG Code of Ethics & Values. (WEG Code of Ethics, 4th Edition)
  • Able to work over-time as needed, including some weekends.
  • Resides or plans to reside within reasonable commuting distance--no relocation assistance available.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in basic English (if applicable for role)
  • Has current work authorization for employment in the United States.
  • Must complete: Job interview, pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Safety Sensitive position: Drug panel includes THC.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certification (NCRC): Platinum or Gold Level;
  • Post-Secondary Certificate or Associate's Degree;
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Outlook, Excel, and Word);
  • Experience with a variety of test equipment & systems;
  • Experience in quality inspection and knowledge of electrical testing;
