Overview
The Regional Sales Manager is a segment specialist responsible for growing and maintaining sales of commercial laundry products within their assigned segment/channel. Key aspects of this position include the execution and implementation of results-oriented sales strategies, creation and maintenance of business relationships with independent distributors, and pre- and post-sales support in a variety of different areas.
Responsibilities
Achieve individual sales, mix and/or margin targets established by the General Manager for the assigned segment
Evaluate, manage, and develop sales channel partners within assigned geography. Includes annual sales target planning, monthly performance reviews of sales mix and territory penetration, initiating consequential accountability measures up to and including termination for under-performance
Foster and maintain strong relationships with independent distribution personnel to establish a level of mutual respect and participation in strategic business practices between Alliance and the customer
Implement company directed sales programs, promotions and strategies to achieve volume and profit plans while expanding market penetration. Leverage the full portfolio of solutions to meet the needs of the customer
Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with accounts. Aid these accounts in several key disciplines, including but not limited to, training on product features and benefits, revenue enhancement opportunities, and general technical support
Stay abreast of competitive activity in the assigned sales territory from the standpoint of products, promotional materials, sales techniques, pricing, warranty, and marketing practices. Provide feedback to Product Management and GM to help in identifying emerging market and customer trends and opportunities
Participate in product launches and trade shows
Complete weekly sales reports/trip reports and monthly expense reports
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing or related field; equivalent experience will be considered
2+ years of sales and marketing experience
Skills and Abilities:
Solid financial acumen; able to understand implications of sales decisions and drive margin improvements
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; Ability to communicate effectively and professionally across levels of the organization and with external stakeholders
Strong organizational skills: Ability to self-manage workload; able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously while managing and meeting both personal & team member deadlines
Systems-proficient; Particularly MS Office products
Demonstrates curiosity; Strong analytical and research skills, leverage multiple sources of data to proactively identify appropriate solutions
Resilient; Able to confidently navigate ambiguity and change
Proficient at translating technical product information into sales strategy to drive revenue
Travel:
Ability to travel overnight 50-75% of the time within assigned market.
Physical Requirements:
Position likely involves sitting long periods, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, bending and lifting
Must have a valid driver’s license and clean Motor Vehicle Record
