Job Description:

The following duties are normal for this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties, however, it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Demonstrates commitment to safety and performs job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrates commitment to quality and performs job duties in adherence to GMP guidelines.

  • Should be aware of their responsibilities and their accountability is clearly defined for key staff involved with product safety, legality, and quality systems.

  • Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, special work instructions, and any other special customer requirements.

  • Distinguish between different carton stock types and their specific performance characteristics.

  • Ability to differentiate different carton styles and functionality.

  • Determine the best manufacturing method to produce product efficiently and effectively.

  • Maintain high efficiency according to established rates during operation of the assigned equipment.

  • Troubleshoot and make decisions regarding the quality of finished product.

  • Complete required quality inspections and paperwork.

  • Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance.

  • Program and monitor our Leary adhesive detection system(s).

  • Flexibility to be able to move between all folder gluer and finishing equipment and shifts to fill for vacation and absences as needed.

  • Assist the CAD department in development of new designs by explaining equipment specifications.

  • Ability to perform all the Folder Gluer Helper tasks effectively, for the purpose of rotating during the shift.

  • Provide guidance and direction to assigned machine crew.

  • Work as a team to run the folder gluers through breaks and shift changes.

  • Play an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned press and surrounding area.

  • Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements.

  • Actively participates in Lean manufacturing initiatives.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

  • Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner

  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business

  • Ability to work on a rotating shift as needed

  • Ability to effectively work in teams

  • Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people

  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Must have good color perception.

  • Knowledge of inks and solvent characteristics and effects in different uses.

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Shift:

  • Rotating 8 hour shifts
