The Marietta Manufacturing site is a part of the Laboratory Products Division. Our laboratory equipment products are used primarily by pharmaceutical companies for drug discovery and development and by biotechnology companies and universities for life science research to advance the prevention and cure of diseases and enhance quality of life. Discover Impactful Work:
Direct a team of colleagues to ensure day to day achievement of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity goals. Drives the implementation of PPI-Lean Enterprise and applies PPI Problem Solving methodology to improve all processes by eliminating waste. Participates in fact-based analysis with Value Stream team to create current state Value Stream map of the end-to-end Value Stream. Manages projects to a future state Value Stream map that uses Lean techniques to eliminate waste and improve processes.
A day in the life:
Leads day-to-day activities within the Value Stream to ensure swift and accurate completion of customer orders.
Provides leadership direction to colleagues; provide the training and guidance necessary to enable colleagues to improve their own abilities and skill levels.
Responsible for maintaining proper staffing levels, scheduling and prioritizing work assignments within the company policies and procedures. Maintain colleague files in the areas of attendance, utilization, training, and quality. Provide regular reviews and counseling where required.
Ensures the department preforms all duties according to company policies and practices within guidelines of ISO standards, quality, and safety. Ensures that a safe work environment and a high level of safety awareness among colleagues is always present. Maintains excellent housekeeping practices through 5S implementation with appropriate audits.
Engages and implements initiatives that support team goals and improvements in work supporting continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing.
Communicates effectively within cell or with other departments to relay key information. Open to and asks for suggestions of others regarding production issues and goals.
Trains and mentors new employees or transitioning workers in the area.
Keys to Success
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Five years working in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Demonstrated experience leading teams in a supervisory, non-supervisory, or project lead role.
Technical aptitude and knowledge of continuous process improvement techniques in a Lean manufacturing environment.
Proficient with MS Office suite.
Proven organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
Standing, bending, reaching and handling bulky parts is common to the job. Frequently lifts up to 35 pounds.
