POSITION SUMMARY
This a part-time, grant funded workforce instructor position. Industrial Controls Instructor will provide non-credit workforce training in Programmable Logic Controls,AC Drives, HMIs and Industrial Networks. The Industrial Controls Instructor will have the opportunity to train and educate individuals interested in improving their capabilities in the field of basic electrical and industrial controls.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and teach advanced courses in manufacturing technology as well as basic courses
·Provides instruction to students in a lab environment as well as a lecture/classroom environment.
·Deliver engaging and informative lessons on industrial controls to participants of varying skill levels.
·Provide hands-on training and demonstrations to enhance participants' understanding and practical skills.
·Assess and evaluate participants' progress through practical assessments.
·Establish, teach, and monitor students' compliance with safety rules for equipment operation as well as the handling of hazardous materials.
·Maintains a clean and organized shop/lab.
·Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction.
·Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
·The design and approach to student learning incorporates current industry standards and emerging technologies in a project-based authentic learning environment that models safe practices. This approach is modular, project-oriented, team-based, hands-on, and competency-assessed.
·Participates in conferences, seminars, and training sessions to keep abreast of developments in the field of study, and integrate relevant information into training programs.
·Maintains course/student records such as student grades, attendance, and training activity details in accordance with FERPA regulations and submit records by established deadlines.
·Remains current in academic or program discipline, including maintaining licensure, certification, or continuing education requirements where appropriate. Receives training or stay current in advances within the field of study that promote student learning.
·Helps students identify and achieve their educational goals through participating in the college's advising process, as well as providing incidental academic advice to students in classes
·Performs certain administrative or service duties in support of the Workforce Development program.
·Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.
MINUMUM QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT
Candidate must meet one of the following:
Strong knowledge of industry standards, such as Rockwell Automation (&/or Siemens) programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Human Machine Interface (HMI), and networking systems.
Professional certifications in industrial controls or related fields are a plus.
EXPERIENCE
REQUIREMENT
A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial controls.
Certifications in OSHA, Quality Assurance/Management, and related skills will be considered for hiring preference
