The Department of Emergency Medicine at Stanford University is seeking a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine or Pediatric Emergency Medicine physician to join the Department as full-time faculty in the Clinician Educator Line. Rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidates.


Stanford Emergency Medicine has a strong focus on precision emergency medicine - the use of information and technology to improve the care of individual patients and their communities. Key areas of focus include optimizing Access to Care, capitalizing on Technology and Digital Health Tools, Leveraging Human-Centered Data to Individualize Treatment Decisions, Advancing Population and Global Health, and Redesigning Medical Education. Of particular interest are candidates who have experience in health innovation and information technology to advance and optimize the delivery of emergency care.


Clinical responsibilities will include patient care in the emergency department at Stanford Hospital, a world-renowned, academic medical center. Our adult and pediatric Emergency Departments have approximately 95,000 and 30,000 visits annually, respectively. Our faculty consists of over 100 board-certified emergency physicians with broad scholarly interests and extramural funding. We sponsor 13 fellowship programs, a four-year residency program, required and advanced student clerkships, and several courses available to learners throughout our university. The applicant must enjoy working with trainees at all levels, from medical students to residents to fellows.

The expected base pay range for this position is:


Clinical Assistant Professor: $300,000- $330,000


Clinical Associate Professor: $340,000- $360,000


Clinical Professor: $370,000 - $390,000


This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicine's faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
