Oversee quality assurance through process controls and vendor feedback on incoming materials.
Lead research and development of packaging, products, equipment, and software related to production and food safety.
Conduct third-party audits and bring in experts to review and improve findings.
Regularly inspect supplier facilities and review processes, procedures, and quality standards.
Stay updated on food safety regulations and best practices to ensure company compliance.
Communicate promptly with senior management about any issues impacting the meat operations group.
Analyze process controls to identify improvement opportunities.
Perform other relevant duties as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years in meat operations or a beef-focused facility.
HACCP certification.
Strong understanding of USDA-FSIS regulations and compliance.
Proficient in beef regulatory affairs and food safety best practices.
Advanced degree in animal science, microbiology, food science, statistics, sanitary equipment and facility design, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven leadership and team collaboration experience.
Strong time management and prioritization abilities.
Proficient in computer skills, trending, and statistical analysis.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, deductive reasoning, and problem-solving capabilities.
