Automation is vital at Thermo Fisher Scientific, ensuring that our business-critical infrastructure and applications are available and performant. We are seeking a motivated and talented rising junior or senior to join our team as an Infrastructure Automation Intern. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing automated infrastructure and event-driven systems.



How will you make an impact?






  • Infrastructure Automation: Assist in developing and deploying automated infrastructure solutions using tools like Ansible, Terraform.


  • Event-Driven Architecture: Use event-driven frameworks and tools like StackStorm to build scalable and responsive systems.


  • Monitoring and Maintenance: Participate in the monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of automated processes to ensure reliability and performance.


  • Scripting and Coding: Write and maintain scripts in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell to automate repetitive tasks and streamline workflows.


  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, system administrators, and DevOps engineers, to understand requirements and deliver solutions.


  • Documentation: Create and update documentation for automation processes, tools, and systems.

Education






  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.



Knowledge, Skills, Abilities







  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell)


  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with colleagues across different departments.
