Our Data Governance practice assists customers on their journey to becoming fully data-driven organizations. Our objective is to optimize our client's ability to successfully manage the decision rights and responsibilities of their data to ensure availability, usability, integrity, and security of their information assets. By co-creating solutions that align the people, processes, and technology, we help ensure their data is trustworthy, meaningful, and properly accessible. You will experience a variety of client projects including performing assessments, devising and implementing data catalog, data quality, and master data solutions, and assisting in the delivery of comprehensive Data Governance and Data Management projects.



What You'll Do



  • Assist in the Data Governance (DG) discovery phase including business/technical stakeholder interviews, identifying key business processes, and inventorying existing pain points, data governance opportunities, and needs

  • Work with Slalom peers to develop and/or revise Data and DG strategies, frameworks, operating models, and key workflow processes

  • Work with our clients to define required technical and business metadata, identify data lineage needs, determine data source integrations, and implement data catalog tools

  • Assist in implementing data management platforms to enable Data Catalogs, Data Quality, and Master Data Management (MDM) capabilities

  • Assess data quality, remediate data quality issues, develop data quality rules, create metrics, thresholds, and responses for data quality, and automate monitoring

  • Enhance Master Data Management (MDM) solutions by identifying key data elements, creating steps for cleansing and enrichment, developing match/merge rules, and identifying the appropriate review and approval process

  • Train and coach candidate data stewards to steward their data by outlining Data Governance best practices and creating templates, user guides, playbooks, and support documentation

  • Be a proactive learner and innovator, always seeking to improve your understanding of both data governance strategies and the technical tools that support them.


What You'll Bring



  • Collaborative solutioning approach to develop, sell and/or implement data governance recommendations based on a client's needs, priorities, and environment

  • Hands-on experience working in a data governance organization

  • An open mindset to learning new strategies and tools, along with creativity in problem-solving and solution design

  • Experience with defining and/or initiating Data Governance strategies, frameworks, operating models, and workflow processes

  • Experience with defining, organizing, and publishing business and technical metadata, and implementing data management technologies (e.g., Data Catalog, Data Quality, Master Data Management, etc.)

  • Experience with technical implementations of industry-leading data management platforms such as Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Purview, Reltio, Profisee, Soda, IDQ, Databuck etc.

  • A strong team spirit, enthusiasm for development, and a passion for learning that bridges both strategy and technical implementation.
