Job Summary:
The Safety Monitor promotes a safe and inclusive environment, supports our agency's mission, and addresses internal and external community concerns in a proactive and professional manner.
This is a non-exempt position.
Shift Schedule: Wednesday-Saturday, 7p-7a Overnight, 48 hours per week
Essential Functions of Position:
Monitor and support the wellbeing of individuals and families receiving services, agency staff and community members
Assist in providing access to agency service settings and providers, and ensure that those who access them have a legitimate reason for doing so
Assist those in agency settings to easily locate and arrive at their intended destinations
Move throughout and monitor conditions in the locations where services and administrative support are provided, on a regular and frequent basis
Communicate with agency staff regarding routine and emergent activities in the setting in a professional manner and respond promptly and satisfactorily
Document routine and unexpected events in a format provided by the agency
Collaborate with staff to address safety concerns and effectively address them as part of a team
As needed, assist in supporting individuals who would benefit from intervention including de-escalation and other approaches to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all involved
Coordinate with public safety services as needed, assisting them in attending to situations for which their assistance has been requested
Maintain and model professional relationships and boundaries with those receiving services
Serve as a community diplomate and represents Bay Cove Human Services as a good neighbor and responsive community partner
Build relationships with neighboring businesses to assist with conflict resolution, as needed.
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
Experience working with vulnerable populations
Experience with de-escalation techniques or crisis interventions preferred Physical Qualifications:
Must frequently lift/or move up to 25 pounds
Specific visual abilities required include close vision and peripheral vision
Regularly required to stand and walk
Occasionally required to assist with operating the wheelchair lift.
