We are seeking a talented individual to join our Government Human Services Consulting team at Mercer. This role will be based in Phoenix, Atlanta, D.C., or Minneapolis. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Since 1985, Mercer's Government Human Services Consulting (GHSC) practice has continued to grow to meet the complex requirements that a publicly funded health and human services program faces. We've grown to nearly 500 professionals specializing in healthcare actuarial science, clinical and behavioral health, data science, finance, pharmacy, policy, and more. Our focus is to transform Medicaid programs to better serve millions of people.
We will count on you to:
Serve as a lead actuary on complex actuarial and quantitative analysis projects, and perform and review moderately complex analyses by using or modifying existing tools and pricing models
Draft client reports and presentations to summarize findings and implications of data, and recommend strategies and solutions to the client
Review data analyses conducted by junior staff members to ensure actuarial soundness, correct use of models or products, and to assist in development of junior staff members
Mange small projects and provide guidance and project management to junior team members, and assist senior project members with client management
Assist senior project team members with day-to-day client contact and management to resolve any project-related questions or challenges
What you need to have:
BA/BS degree
3+ years minimum health actuarial experience, with minimum 1 year of Medicaid actuarial experience
Actuarial credentials (ASA, FSA, MAAA)
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a demanding work environment

Marsh McLennan is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh McLennan colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one "anchor day" per week on which their full team will be together in person.
The applicable base salary range for this role is $92,200 to $184,300.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
