The Americas Compliance Department (ACD) manages compliance risk in the United States for Mizuho Bank Ltd. and its U.S. subsidiary bank, Mizuho Bank (USA) and also provides compliance support services to Mizuho Americas LLC, the U.S. bank holding company for Mizuho Financial Group.
Summary
The successful candidate will join the centralized Compliance Quality Assurance (QA) team within the Financial Crimes Compliance department. This role will be expected to perform ongoing testing of the AML, KYC, and Sanctions procedures against regulatory requirements. In addition to testing in search of any control weaknesses, the Compliance QA AVP will also assess and present opportunities for enhancement to the QA function. This individual may also provide both formal and informal training, as well as the contribute to enhancement of policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Implement, perform, and document QA reviews of AML/KYC/Sanctions cases to determine the effectiveness of control and to evaluate the word product for quality, accuracy and sound decision making.
Communicate QA results to stakeholders and management as well as monitor resolution of any cases which require remediation or corrective action.
Regularly review and update policies, procedures, controls, and technology in response to changes to regulations, emerging risks, and industry best practices to ensure ongoing effectiveness of the QA program.
Assist in the design and management of trackers/reports for robust oversight and insightful metric reporting.
Assist in the review, publishing and/or development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) for relevant reporting.
Assist in the preparation and delivery of Lesson Learned training sessions.
Collect and analyze QA findings to identify trends and patterns and assist with the development of a detailed trends analysis report based on the gathered data.
Assist with collection and preparation of documentation and responses for any examinations, audits or testing, or remediation efforts.
Qualifications
Minimum 5+ Years of specialized experience in Financial Crimes Compliance or related function at a globally diversified financial services organization.
BA or BS Degree in finance, law, criminal justice, or a related field
CAMS Certification preferred
In-depth understanding of Financial Crime Compliance regulations including but not limited to USA Patriot Act, Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC.
Comprehensive knowledge of KYC, AML, and Sanctions processes

The expected base salary ranges from $99,000.00 - $150,000.00. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
